Can I import existing electronic MSDS files?

We understand that you may have existing MSDS sheets in various electronic formats already. However, the MSDS Administrator is primarily designed as a tool to bring your paper MSDS sheets into an electronic format that allows you to locate and view your MSDS sheets quickly. The MSDS Administrator requires you to input the critical information from each MSDS sheet creating a catalog. Items in this catalog are then linked to .jpeg files that you scan into the system using the supplied scanner and the MSDS Administrator software.

Chemical manufacturers each have their own method for distributing electronic MSDS sheets including PDF & Word Doc. The MSDS Administrator cannot work with these document types natively - they must be converted into the .jpg format. The easiest method is to print out these existing documents then scan them into the MSDS Administrator using the data entry workflow.

There is no import software currently available that can work with the various file formats that your existing MSDS information may be available in.
