What are the supported Network environments?

The MSDS Administrator can be installed in a variety of networking environments. Basically, all that is required are for Windows clients to be able to map a drive to a given path.


Supported environments include:

  • Windows 2000 Server
  • Windows 2003 Server
  • Novell Netware 4
  • Novell Netware 5
  • Novell Netware 6
  • Novell Open Enterprise Server 6.5 (Netware Kernal)


Compliance Communications cannot support customers who have installed the MSDS Administrator using the following networking environments:

  • Windows Workstation file sharing
  • Novell Netware using CIFS / Clientless Logins
  • Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices
  • Linux using Samba
